Heathfields Weekly Update - 6th November 2026

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers

As another busy and successful week comes to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our pupils, staff, and families for their continued support and commitment to our school community. It has been wonderful to see the children embracing their learning with enthusiasm, demonstrating our school values, and celebrating their achievements both inside and outside the classroom.

This week has been filled with exciting learning opportunities, special moments, and reasons to be proud. In this newsletter, you will find updates from across the school, important reminders, and a celebration of the many accomplishments of our children.

Remembrance Day Appeal

Throughout this week and next week children will have the opportunity to purchase poppies and Royal British Legion merchandise during the school day.

If you would like your child to make a donation, please send the money in a named envelope and ask them to hand it to their class teacher.

As part of our Remembrance activities, on Wednesday 11th November 2026, we are inviting children to either wear non-uniform in colours associated with remembrance: red, black, green, purple or white or for those children who are members of Scouts, Girlguiding or Cadet groups they can wear their uniform.

We appreciate your support as we join in this national act of remembrance. We will also have buckets on the gate for children and parents to put in donations on the day.

Be bright be seen - annual campaign

Celebrations

The class with the best attendance was Grey class with 97%.

Sadly, no other classes were above the school's target of 96%.

The class with the highest amount of home readers was Child class.

PTFA updates

PTFA AGM

Our PTFA AGM will take place on 19th November at 1.30pm, and we would love to see as many parents and carers there as possible.

We urgently need volunteers to take on the roles of Chair and Treasurer. Without these key positions being filled, the PTFA will be unable to operate this year. Unfortunately, this would mean that there would be no PTFA-led events or fundraising activities for our school community during the year ahead.

If you are interested in finding out more about either role, please come along to the AGM at Heathfields Infants.

Christmas Cards

We are excited to share that the children have the opportunity to design their very own Christmas cards in school, which will be sent off and transformed into personalised Christmas cards.

These can then be purchased by parents or carers, and for every purchase made, the school receives a small contribution which helps us provide additional resources and opportunities for our children.

As this project is being managed by an external company, we need parent permission before we can send your child's artwork. An Arbor message requesting consent has been sent. Please ensure this is approved by Monday if you wish your child to take part.

Trust updates

Mr Hand (Vice CEO) will be working with the senior leaders of the school on Thursday. The focus of his visit will be in the Reception classrooms, as we are proud of how the children have settled, the provisions and experiences shared with the children throughout the day. In the afternoon, Mr Hand will be joined by Mrs Hanblin (CEO) and meet with the school leaders to review the progress that the school made last year and how we are ensuring that we are moving forward. We look forward to sharing the developments in the school writing curriculum as next week we are delivering our new writing curriculum to Years 1 and 2 children.

Community updates

For attention of parents/carers with children in the care system;

Thank you for your ongoing partnership. We hope you enjoy reading about the fantastic experiences taking place at Heathfields Infant Academy and wish you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
